This Privacy Policy describes how Codelantern ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the NutriSnap AI mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1.1 Information You Provide — When you set up your profile, you may provide personal details such as your name, age, gender, height, weight, activity level, and country. This information is used solely to calculate your personalized daily calorie and nutrition targets.
1.2 Food Photos — When you use the camera or gallery feature to analyze food, your photos are sent to our AI service for nutritional analysis. Photos are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers after analysis is complete.
1.3 Nutrition Data — The App stores your meal history, nutrition tracking data, water intake records, and AI-generated advice reports locally on your device.
1.4 Usage Data — We may collect anonymized usage statistics such as feature usage frequency and error reports to improve the App. This data does not identify you personally.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
— To provide AI-powered food recognition and nutritional analysis
— To calculate personalized daily calorie and hydration targets
— To generate personalized nutrition advice based on your daily intake
— To display your meal history, statistics, and progress
— To improve the accuracy and quality of our service
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the core functionality of the App.
3.1 Local Storage — All personal data, including your profile, meal history, nutrition records, and preferences, is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a centralized database of user data.
3.2 Data Retention — Your food history and advice reports are retained on your device for 60 days. Older data is automatically removed to maintain App performance. You can manually clear all data at any time through your device settings.
3.3 Security — We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission to our AI analysis service. All API communications use encrypted HTTPS connections.
The App uses third-party AI services to analyze food photos and provide nutritional information. When you submit a photo for analysis, the image is transmitted securely to our AI processing service. These services process the data in real-time and do not retain your photos or personal information.
The App uses Google Play for subscription management and payment processing. Payment information is handled entirely by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
The App requests the following device permissions:
Camera — Required to take photos of food for AI analysis. The camera is used exclusively for food recognition purposes.
Storage/Gallery — Required to allow you to select existing photos from your gallery for analysis.
These permissions are used solely for the stated purposes and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
NutriSnap AI includes an automatic dietary filtering system that detects and excludes certain food categories (including alcohol and pork-based products) during analysis. This filtering operates locally within the App and does not transmit dietary preference data to any external service.
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
NutriSnap AI offers optional premium subscriptions managed through Google Play. All payment processing is handled by Google. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details or financial information. Subscription management, billing, and cancellation are governed by Google Play's terms and policies.
You have the right to:
— Access all your data directly within the App (Profile, History, Statistics)
— Delete all your data by clearing the App storage through device settings
— Revoke camera and storage permissions at any time
— Cancel your subscription through Google Play at any time

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
