NutriSnap AI - Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the NutriSnap AI Android app ("NutriSnap", "the app") uses, why, and what choices you have. NutriSnap has no ads and does not sell your data.

1. No account, data stays on your phone

NutriSnap works without an account. Your profile (such as name if you choose to enter one, sex, birth year, height, weight, goal and habits), meal history, weight log, water and drink log, advice history and settings are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to our server for storage.

Meal records and advice reports older than 60 days are deleted automatically from your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes everything stored on your device.

2. Data sent at the moment of a request

Some features need artificial intelligence. When you use them, only the data needed for that request is sent through our server to Google's Gemini API, and the response is returned to your device:

Photo analysis: the food photo you take or choose (resized and compressed).
Nutrition advice: the name you entered (if any), that day's foods, calorie and macro totals, water intake, country, goal and your answer to "What's your biggest challenge?".
Editing or adding a food: the food name and portion.
Adding foods by voice (Pro): the text of what you said (the foods and amounts), after you have reviewed it. No audio is sent. See section 3.
Writing help in feedback: the text you ask to correct.

Our server does not store your photos, food lists, transcribed text or advice text. They are passed to Google's Gemini API to generate the result and are not saved by us; Google processes them under its API terms.

3. Voice entry and microphone (Pro)

NutriSnap Pro offers an optional "Add by voice" feature. The app uses your microphone only while you are using this feature, and only after you grant microphone permission. Microphone permission is never requested on the free plan.

Your speech is converted to text by your phone's own speech recognition service (for example, Google's speech services on Android). Depending on your phone's settings, that service may process the audio on the device or over the internet, under its provider's own privacy terms.
NutriSnap does not record, store or upload any audio. No sound reaches our server.
You can review and edit the text before you tap "Analyze". Only then is the text sent to our server for nutrition analysis, in the same way as foods you type. It is not stored by us after processing.
You can turn off microphone permission at any time in your phone's settings and keep adding foods by typing.

4. Device identifier, app version & usage limits

To apply daily usage limits and the free trial fairly, the app sends technical information with requests:

Random device identifier: created by the app the first time you use a feature that needs our server. It is a random value, not your name, email, phone number or Google account, and it is not derived from your device. On our server it is used only to count your requests per day.
Installation key: a one-way hash (SHA-256) of your device's Android ID combined with an app-specific value. The original Android ID cannot be recovered from it. It is used only to count how many free uses have been used (free trial photo analyses and the free use of other features), so the free allowance does not restart when the app is reinstalled.
App version number: each request includes the app's version number so that our server can answer older versions correctly, for example by asking them to update. It does not identify you.

We store the random device identifier with a daily request count, and the installation key with the number of free uses. These records contain no photos, food data or personal details.

Your IP address is used only to apply request limits. It is kept briefly in server memory and is not written to our database. Like most hosted services, our cloud provider's request logs may record IP addresses for a limited period for security and operations.

5. App updates

NutriSnap asks the Google Play Store app on your phone whether a newer version is available and, if so, invites you to update. This check is handled by Google Play; NutriSnap sends no personal data for it.

6. Purchases

NutriSnap Pro subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details. The app checks with Google Play whether you have an active subscription.

7. Feedback

If you send feedback, it is sent from your own email app to our support address. We use it only to answer you and improve the app.

8. What we do not do

No ads and no advertising identifiers.
No selling or sharing of your data for marketing.
No audio recording or uploading.
No location tracking, contacts or account creation.

9. Health information

NutriSnap provides general nutrition information and estimates. It is not medical advice. Please consult your doctor before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you are under 18, pregnant or have a health condition.

10. Children

NutriSnap is not directed to children under 13. Users under 18 should use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

11. Your choices

You can use the app without entering your name.
You can use the app without voice entry and without granting microphone permission.
You can delete your data at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.
